How does technology affect your way of seeing and experiencing the world?

  1. I love to research job postings and read about EFL teachers' experiences. This was how I got up the nerve to go to Costa Rica. When you can get a glimpse of what life is like in other places, it makes you more adventurous. I think that technology breaks down barriers and allows cultures to connect more easily.

    1. I totally agree with you. To me, this is the greatest contribution of technology to the world - braking down barriers and making information available. I can not say to all people, because there are still a lot of people who do not have access to technological devices; however, for sure many more people now have access to places and information that they would never have, hadn't it been for the internet.

  3. Technology broaden my thinking as future teacher and as student. As teacher I will become more innovative in providing exercises for students. As student I will rely on myself to find a suitable way to learn

  5. I agree that there's more access. My issue is that people aren't learning how to synthesize or analyze all the info that's out there now! There's an information overload, and it takes time to develop the skills to sift through it all for commonalities, main ideas, and to make your own conclusions as an educated individual.

    1. That is my main concern too. I sometimes feel overloaded with so much info, new gadgets, so much to learn. I always have the feeling that I am way behind.

  6. Technology has definitely opened up a lot of new channels in my life. Way too many,to tell the truth. I enjoy learning, and with the internet I have the wish that I could have the world in my hands. So much to learn and discover. Yet, my hands are too small. I don't have enough hours in my day, my brain cells aren't enough to absorb so much information. So, technology in a way has that bitter sweet taste. It can be an awesome tool when it comes to learning, but it also has fast-forwarded our lives. It is almost like one had lived 100 years in only 10 physical years. At least, this is the way I feel. So much knowledge, and yet what to do with all that. How much am I missing? How much am I gaining? These are questions that come to my mind. I hope humanity does not become so tech-savvy to the point that we end up loosing the human connections. Look around and you will see more people in love with their Smart phones than actually looking at one another in the eye and really sharing our amazing capacity to love.
